What it is
A compact substation, also called a package substation or CSS, puts the 11 kV ring main unit, the distribution transformer and the LT panel in one weatherproof enclosure. It replaces a brick substation room and three separate deliveries with one factory-tested unit placed on a plinth.

How buyers choose
