How buyers choose
An RMU connects a building's transformer to the 11 kV cable ring. Buyers specify the configuration (for example two ring switches and one breaker), the rated voltage, the short-time current rating, the tee-off protection and whether the unit must be motorised for remote switching. Most new DISCOM networks in Gujarat ask for motorised, SCADA-ready units, so it pays to confirm this before ordering.
